Aderant has announced the acquisition of Bellefield Systems, further expanding its cloud and compliance offerings to the legal sector.

Exact has announced that it has acquired Winbooks a Belgian accounting and business management software company from Vectis Private Equity. No financial terms were disclosed

Boomi is to acquire Unifi Software. Unifi Software provides market-leading intelligent data discovery, catalog, and preparation offerings built on a cloud technology stack. The deal is expected to close “shortly” but no financial terms were disclosed.

Appointments

Concentra Analytics has announced two strategic hires. Abdul Hummaida joins the business in the newly created role of CTO and Martin Moran joins as non-executive director.

ConnectWise has announced several senior appointments following the acquisition of Continuum and ITBoost. Geoffrey Willison has been named chief operating officer (COO), he was CFO at Continuum. Brad Surminsky has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO). Clint Maddox has been named chief revenue officer (CRO). Steve Cochran has been named chief technology officer (CTO). Cochran joins from GHX, a former Thoma Bravo company where he was also CTO. All four will report to Jason Magee, CEO. The existing ConnectWise leadership team remains but former Continuum execs Robert Kocis and Tasos Tsolakis will leave the company.

Host Analytics celebrates the arrivals of three new executives. Melissa Dreuth joins as Senior Vice President of People and Culture from Betts Recruiting. Rowan Tonkin is now the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Pier Barrattolo is Senior Vice President of North America sales.

Iterable, the growth marketing company has appointed Will Johnson as CFO and Andrew Bechere as CSO.

Swiftpage, the company behind Act! Has appointed Steve Oriola as President and CEO. He has previously been CEO at Pipedrive.

Business News

JDA has opened a new and larger office in Hyderabad of around 160,000 sq ft. It will house more than 1,300 employees and will be its fourth centre of excellence.

Microsoft and Oracle have extended their Interoperability Partnership to Canada. It will add a direct interconnect between the Oracle and Microsoft Canadian regions. The two companies will add further interconnects in the future for US West Coast, in a US Government specific region, in Asia, and in the European Union. It already has interconnects in Ashburn (North America), Azure US East, and in London (United Kingdom).

Open Systems, Inc has rebranded as OSAS which stands for Open Systems Adaptable Solutions. Its products including Traverse, ProcessPro, Master, Impress, Flex-Pack, Service, Open Systems Accounting Solution and SouthWare will maintain their own name but will now say “Powered by OSAS”

OutSystems has partnered with the Software Improvement Group (SIG) This will enable customers using the OutSystems low code platform to manage the quality and security of their application development using the leading quality assurance solutions of SIG.

Wolfgang Confectioners, a co-packer of confectionery products for large food manufacturers has selected Deacom ERP. Sam Miller, President of Wolfgang Confectioners commented: “We selected Deacom’s ERP system because of all the functionality that is included in the platform and is specifically built for manufacturers like us. It delivers everything we need to scale efficiently, with only one piece of software.”

Global Shop solutions has published a case study on MaTech. The firm deployed Global Shop Solutions ERP and has improved compliance and inventory accuracy and well as delivering other benefits.

Icertis announced that Satair, a world leader in the commercial aerospace aftermarket has selected the Icertis Contract Management platform.

IFS continues to announce customers wins this week. It revealed that SPIE France, a subsidiary of the SPIE Group has selected IFS Applications ERP to deploy across its subsidiaries. IFS beat SAP, Oracle and Microsoft and will deploy the solution to 19,000 employees across 400 sites in France.

A second announcement will see IFS deploy IFS Application in the IFS Managed Cloud for Austal, Australia’s global shipbuilder and defense prime contractor. Austal has 5,250 employees as at its 2018 annual report.

Singer Sri Lanka PLC, one of the largest home appliance and electronics retailers in Sri Lanka will upgrade to the latest browser based version of IFS Applications ERP, version 10. It will deploy the solution to more than 430 locations

Infor will replace 270 instances of ERP with Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise at hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG. Hagebau operates about 370 legal entities and is consolidating down to a single ERP solution.

HEINEKEN is extending its use of JDA Software, both adding new functionality and extending its use in new geographies. It is already deployed in Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Poland and France.

Ramco has signed a major deal with China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) for Ramco Aviation. CASL is a joint venture between China National Aviation Corporation (Group) Limited (40%), Gama Aviation (20%), United Airlines, Inc. (20%) and China Airlines Limited (20%). It employs more than 1,000 employees.

Avenu deployed Sage Intacct in 6 months and has seen significant benefits already. It cut aged receivables in half and reduced its monthly close time by 20% over the last two years. Sage Intacct has just published a full case study about the project.

Product News

Anaplan has announced the release of Predictive Sales Planning. This consists of four AI powered solutions to assist companies designing and executing sales and revenue strategies. The four solutions are: Predictive Account Segmentation and Scoring, Predictive Territory Planning, Predictive Sales Capacity Planning and  Predictive Quota Planning.

Microsoft has unveiled the timeline for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform releases in 2020. On January 27th it will unveil the new capabilities of release 1, 2020 for both product suites.

Namely has announced its first product in conjunction with ThinkHR. The Comply Database Powered by ThinkHR delivers a content library for HR leaders to access articles, tools, checklists, sample policies, and forms. It also includes the latest legal updates that apply to personnel management.

Oracle continues to open up more data centre availability for US government contracts following its FedRAMP authorization. It has now achieved DISA Impact Level 5 Provisional Authorization for three new government regions: Ashburn, Virginia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Chicago, Illinois.

Pandle has improved how it handles and checks bank feeds within its software. It has simplified the process and added an automation option for users to confirm transactions.

Sage and ToolWatch have announced the launch of Sage ToolOps. The cloud based solution integrates to Sage CRE and will assist construction companies with the tracking and management of their equipment, materials and supplies.

Accenture has selected SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA to power its Accenture NewPage9 solution. Accenture NewsPage9 is an integrated distributor management and sales automation system that helps consumer products companies better manage traditional trade channels, promotions, and sales processes.

simPRO has implemented its own online quote acceptance feature which enables customers to digital sign quotations within its sales solutions. The solution is similar to that available within simPRO Mobile’s Quote and Sales Module for field sales

Trintech has released the  AI Risk Rating for Journal Entries and Risk Intelligent Inspect™ powered by MindBridge Ai. The AI enabled applications were specifically developed to assist the office of finance.

Vertex, Inc announced that the Vertex SuiteTax Connector SuiteApp has achieved “Built for NetSuite” status. Vertex offers two Suiteapps, Vertex for SuiteTax is a native offering which is deployed on-premise, on-demand or in the cloud. It also offers Vertex Cloud Indirect Tax for Netsuite which is a hybrid app.

Research

Research by IFS has revealed that 91% Manufacturing firms are planning to invest in AI. The survey has 600 respondents and also asked whether AI would lower headcount in organisations.
