Acquisitions and Mergers

Advanced has announced the acquisition of CareWorks, a SaaS vendor of case management software for health and social care organisations. This is its first acquisition since the funding round led by BC Partners managed funds and Vista Equity Partners

Automation Anywhere has strengthened its develop team with the acquisition of start up Cathyos Labs. The entire team of Cathyos Labs including the founders will join Automation Anywhere as it looks to strengthen its development function. This acqui-hire will not purchase the products developed by Cathyos Labs, just the people.

Intuit has announced that it has acquired ChronoBooks. It will integrate the software into QuickBooks online and provide it to customers using the QuickBooks Online Advanced plan at no additional cost. ChronoBooks provides a way of viewing and restoring historical QuickBooks online activity.

Precursive and Taskfeed, two customer onboarding solutions on the Salesforce platform, have merged and henceforward will be known as Precursive. Jonathan Corrie, CEO, Precursive commented: “In the subscription economy, companies are having to change the way they work and better collaborate with customers. Our platform provides a seamless experience to help them scale their onboarding and professional services capability.”

Alteryx has announced that it will partner with the Arizona State University to accelerate the Smart City program development in the Phoenix Metro area using its analytic solutions.

Cornerstone has strengthened its partnership with Kronos with tighter integration between the two solutions. It will offer this enhanced employee learning experience to over 100 joint customers. In a separate announcement Cornerstone it is to collaborate with Facebook to leverage the Oculus VR technology for workplace training. It has released an SDK for VR content to expand LMS integration.

MaritzCX has announced that Sky Deutschland has increased customer satisfaction using the MaritzCX platform. It processes around 12 million customer contacts per year across multiple channels. It analyses the feedback to help Sky improved efficiency and improve processes for its services.

Deacom is implementating its ERP solution at Herb Pharm, a leading provider of liquid herbal extracts.

Inland Homes plc, an AIM listed specialist housebuilder and brownfield developer, has selected selected Deltek Project Information Management (Deltek PIM) to run its projects.

Funding

Ceridian completed a secondary public offering of of 5,000,000 shares of the Company’s common stock at a price of $53.08. The offer closed on November 15th.

Freshworks Inc. has raised $150 million on a post funding valuation of $3.5 billion in a series H funding round. It was led by existing investors Sequoia Capital, CapitalG, and Freshworks’ first investor, Accel. Freshworks will use the capital to continue internationalisation and increase investment into its integration SaaS platform Sunshine.

Workato raised $70 million in a Series C funding round led by Redpoint Ventures. Norwest Venture Partners, Geodesic Capital, and existing investors Battery Ventures and Storm Ventures also participated. Workato has raised $111 from several sources including Software firms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday. Workato placed in the leader quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quandrant for iPaaS.

Research

Conga has revealed that 97% of the 2,400 organisations polled in its inaugural State of Digital Document Transformation report have a digital transformation strategy. However, only 50% believe their efforts are successful. The survey covered EMEA, US and APAC and produced some surprisingly high numbers.

IFS has published a report entitled: “Study of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption plans and economic perceptions“. It highlights how 90% of companies intend to implement AI technology in their business and what benefits they believe they will get.

SAP and Accenture are creating a new SAP Cloud for Utilities solution. Built on SAP C/4HANA SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP S/4HANA. It can be deployed as a hybrid or cloud only solution. It will help run Utilities business, though no data for general availability is given.

Automation Anywhere has unveiled the latest version of IQ Bot its web-based, cloud-native RPA-integrated Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution. The latest version supports 10 languages and adds future use cases to its portfolios including the extraction of identification documents such as passports and industry standard documents for insurance, health claims and others.

BMC has added ITSM and ITOM capabilities to BMC Helix claimed to deliver the first intelligence enriched integrated solution. It has added BMC Helix Remediate, BMC Helix Optimize, and BMC Helix Monitor to the suite.

Conga has announced the opening of its first office in Paris and Signer Languages for Conga Sign. This presents the request to sign a document in the signers local language. It will initially support English, French and German.

Engagio has announced that an integration to Bombora is now generally available for its B2B marketing engagement software. The integration provides access to B2B intent data provided by Bombora and enhances the understanding of when target customers show an intent to purchase. Engagio users will gain access to 25 topics and up to 10 in-market accounts each week for free from Bombora.

eWorkplace Manufacturing Inc has extended its OEM agreement with SAP for SAP Business One. Its two flagship products OptiPro ERP Software and Batchmaster are built using SAP Business One. It was not reported how long the extension is.

Hypernet Labs announced the launch of Galileo. Targeted at the DevOps market the device agnostic platform enables users to deploy code with a simple click and drag interface. It targets engineers, researchers and scientists and aims at delivering SciOps (as opposed to DevOps).

Oracle has announced an enhancement for Communications companies. The new solution, Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) will enable communication providers to create and manage new services associated with 5G deployment and new digital business models.

Pandle has add the ability to create recurring invoices and transactions within its software. This can reduce errors and increases efficiency.

Pulseway Mobile Remote Control is now available for both iOS and Android devices. It allows analysts to remotely control any user session. It has also added 6 applications to its 3rd party patch management catalog: Dropbox, Google Backup and Sync, Malwarebytes, OpenVPN, TreeSize Free and Zoom.

The latest release of simPRO enables users to assign tasks to multiple employees or contractors. All assigned people receive notification but only one can complete the task, which means that the first person free to do can so.

Yellowfin announced version 9 of its Business intelligence and analytics solution. Yellowfin 9 includes a new flexible, action based dashboard builder. There are improvements to the Yellowfin Mobile App and the first iteration of Yellowfin Present a secure presentation tool.
