Back after a trip to the US for the IFS World Conference, here are some news snippets from the week beginning 14th October.

Acquisitions

KKR are believed to have withdrawn Epicor from sale, PEHub reports (Registration required). With KKR aimed for between $4-5 billion on an EBITDA estimated at $330 million in 2019 the final bidder Hellman & Friedman pulled out.

NTT Ltd has completed the acquisition of Symetry Corporation, a SAP managed services. It will form part of the managed services division of NTT Ltd. It was acquired by Secure-24 Intermediate Holdings, Inc. (Secure-24)

Appointments

Apptus reveals that it appointed Koti Reddy as Senior Vice President and Head of R&D. He was previously SVP Engineering at Calidus Cloud.

BambooHR has appointed Brad Rencher as its new CEO with co-founders Ben Peterson and Ryan Saunders stepping up to co-chairmen on the board. Rencher most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Adobe’s Digital Experience business unit.

Exact has announced that CFO Onno Krap has left after 7 years. It has not announced a new appointment yet. It comes a few months after the acquisition by KKR.

NTT Ltd has appointed Andy Cocks as its Chief Go-to-Market Officer. The promotion comes after 8 years as CTO at Dimension Data, now part of the much larger NTT Ltd.

Sage has announced three senior appointments. Marc Linden joins as EVP and General Manager, Medium Segment Native Cloud Solutions. Sue Goble as Chief Customer Success Officer and Derk Bleeker as Chief Corporate Development Officer.

SAP has announced that Meg Bear will join SAP SuccessFactors as head of product. She joins after 19 months at Juvo as SVP, Product and Engineering. Prior to that she has worked for Saba Software and spent 3 years at PeopleSoft, staying on at Oracle for a further seven years after its acquisition.

PSA

FinancialForce reveals that  Sprinklr won the 2019 FinancialForce Business Model Innovation Award. It has improved utilisation of its project managers and leverage the FinancialForce dashboards to improve its business performance.

Changepoint announced a rebranding which will provide a new logo and a website focused on use cases and solutions. It is also demonstrating some future release functionality in private preview.

HCM

Talentia has added four modules: Recruitment Management, Organizational Charts, Employee Analysis and Review and a new Collaborator Portal to its HR platform.

CRM

Pega has announced Next-Best-Action Designer within the  Pega Customer Decision Hub. The solution enables companies to rapidly deploy AI by business users across multiple channels.

Salesforce Chairman and co-CEO Marc Benioff has published a book Trailblazer: The Power of Business as the Greatest Platform for Change.

Waters Corporation has selected Salesforce CRM across offices in 35 countries and 15 manufacturing facilities. It will use Salesforce Sales Cloud Einstein, Service Cloud and Einstein Analytics.

Research

Research by ADP entitled the Future of Pay research study by ADP has found that 64% of companies in the UK are not adopting more flexible pay options despite research that shows the benefits.

Asana has released results from a massive survey of more than 10,000 respondents about working practices. The Anatomy of Work Index, found 83 percent of employees say their team isn’t living up to their efficiency potential by not having the right processes in place. Asana has also opened its first office in Japan.

A study of 8,370 employees, managers and HR leaders by Oracle reveals how AI is changing the relationship between people and technology at work. The majority 65% are optimistic over its introduction. The findings vary across the globe and highlight some interesting cultural and gender differences.

Oracle has published its Retail’s Setting The Bar research. Conducted in 2019 with over 15,800 consumers and 210 retailers across Europe, JAPAC, LATAM, North America. It highlights the gap in expectations of consumers and retailers on shipping, convenience and returns.

ERP

Bullhorn launch Bullhorn One Commercial Edition, with integrated payroll from PrismHR. It provides a solution for commercial candidate recruiting companies to manage the process from recruitment through payment and billing.

Epicor announces major update to Epicor ERP 10.2.5 includes a collaboration solution, a AI powered virtual agent, Service management improvements and Epicor Functions. It also announced new cloud data centers in Australia and Canada.

Infor has won business at another Middle East conglomerate, Saudi Bugshan Barmaja Co. Ltd. It will deploy Infor across its 30 businesses in 10 countries. It will deploy Infor solutions including human capital management, customer relationship management, finance, procurement, warehouse and supply chain management.

Oracle is winning more business to Oracle Cloud in the education sector. Ithaca College and DePaul University have selected Oracle ERP Cloud and other solutions. Michigan State University has selected Oracle Student Financial Planning in a hybrid architecture with Exadata Cloud at Customer to operate PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has selected Oracle ERP Cloud across 88 branches, and is expected to cut its procurement costs for indirect materials by 5% as one of the KPIs.

Ramco has enabled its Chatbot CHIA on WhatsApp Business Solution. It brings more than 30 self service transaction capabilities to the platform. It already supports Microsoft Teams, Skype and Slack.

Sage Intacct has revealed that Atlas Network  is leveraging its ERP in conjunction with Salesforce. Also Benchmark Global Hospitality has completed the migration from Aptech to the Cloud ERP.

simPRO has added Gantt Charts to its project management solution and also improved its unassigned stock report, including the ability to place orders. There is also an updated map in simTRAC. simPRO also added support for Square payments.

Unit4 has celebrated customer wins in Canada for its Higher Education Business World ERP solution. They include University Canada West (UCW) and Toronto School of Management (TSOM).

At Workday Rising, Cloud ERP vendor has revealed innovations for both its HR and Finance solutions.

Zoho has launched Catalyst. The new full-stack serverless development platform first announced last year.

Channel News

Zendesk unveiled a new partner program. It aims to provide more skills and tools to assist partners as well as enabling greater flexibility in how they work with Zendesk.

Security

ManageEngine launches PAM360, a complete privileged access security solution for IT security teams.
