Bullhorn has acquired Erecruit a provider of applicant tracking and pay and bill solutions. It is also a leader in candidate experience for the staffing and recruitment industry.

Upland Software has acquired Contact Center productivity solution suite vendor InGenius. It paid $26.4 million at closing and there is a $3.0 million cash holdback for three years. It will add $9 million in annualized revenues.

Alteryx announced the acquisition of Feature Labs. It is a data science software company that automates feature learning for machine learning and AI applications. Terms were not disclosed.

Appointments

BMC Software Inc has appointed Ayman Sayed  President and Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. He succeeds Bob Beauchamp who has been interim CEO since April 2019. KKR acquired the company in 2018 for a sum believed to be around $8.3 billion.

ServiceNow has announced the appointment of Jordi Ferrer as Vice President and General Manager for UK and Ireland.

Tibco has appointed Fred Studer as Chief Marketing Officer to head up its worldwide marketing. Studer was previously CMO at FinancialForce, NetSuite and Gigamon.

Egress appoints has appointed Robin Bell as CIO. He will leverage his experience at Vodafone and Cable and Wireless to deliver forward looking new technologies to the people-centric data security vendor.

Workday is ditching the numbering scheme it has used for the first 33 major releases. Future releases will now be known as Workday 2020 Release 1, Workday 2020 release 2, Workday 2021 Release 1, or 2020R etc in the future. They will be released in March and September in future.

Research

Research by ManageEngine uncovers how few SME’s have adequate security protection. 72% don’t use a comprehensive vulnerability solution. It also shows an increase in cloud usage (96% use at least one for of cloud technology). ManageEngine also asked about GDPR compliance and found only 54% are fully compliant, or believe themselves to be. In future 35% of SME’s believe AI will play a major role in their business operations.

Independent Growth Finance has published a new report entitled “Powering Freedom” that looks at the state of funding for SMEs.
