Zeal Corporation has signed a partnership agreement with Infor Japan K.K, the Japanese subsidiary of Infor. Zeal is a specialist BI consultancy. The agreement will see it deliver Infor Birst, the Infor cloud-based BI platform.

This is not the only BI platform that Zeal works with. It also sells IBM Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Business Intelligence, SAP Business Objects and SAS Enterprise Miner. In addition it has worked with the Infor d/EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) software since 2012. This was previously Infor BI. It is a significant consultancy in the Japanese market with more than 900 customers.

Zeal will offer a one stop shop for Infor Birst designating, implementing and maintaining the solution for customers. One of the reasons that Zeal wanted to extend its portfolio to Birst was to take advantage of the multi-tenant offering that Birst offers. This will enable it to help customers challenged with siloed data analysis.

Takahiro Okabe, CEO, Zeal Corporation commented: “In the past, whenever a business intelligence system was rolled out across a company, a large data warehouse would always be built, with multiple data marts prepared for each business. No matter how easy the BI tools were to use, there was always a bottleneck to construction and operation, so there were always customers who were unable to fully utilize cross-company data. Infor Birst is a BI product with groundbreaking functionalities that overturns this accepted norm. In fact, it has been in our sights since it was launched. With this long-awaited, full-scale expansion into Japan, Zeal jumped at the chance to add it to its offerings.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is the second Japanese partner announcement by Infor, in as many weeks. It also added Aŭtomatigo Inc as an Infor Nexus partner. Infor Japan seems to be targeting a greater presence in the Japanese market at a time when appetite for cloud software is increasing.
