Upland PowerSteering has added an integration to Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is one of the leading collaboration tools used by business. It is used by more than 500,000 organisations across the world, and 91 of the Fortune 100. As such, it was important that Upland integrate to the collaboration platform. The integration allows users to communicate, share documents and schedule meetings from within PowerSteering.

Mounir Hilal, chief customer officer and executive vice president for project & IT management solutions at Upland Software commented: “This integration with Microsoft Teams aligns with Upland Software’s continued commitment to deliver best-of-breed solutions and customer-driven innovation. Our customers are increasingly challenged with managing complex projects across the enterprise. Now, project teams can collaborate in real time to improve productivity and help ensure project success.”

Upland PowerSteering is a cloud-based PPM solution that already has social collaboration as part of its functionality. This integration will allow employees not using the PPM software to collaborate with project team members. PowerSteering already supports a wide range of integrations though the Upland integration platform powered by Dell Boomi. Neither this announcement or the supporting documentation on the website goes into much detail about the exact nature of the integration.

However, Gautam Khattak, chief information officer at Artesyn Embedded Technologies commented: “I was excited to see the integration of Upland’s PowerSteering with Microsoft Teams. The interface looked seamless, and I think having this integrated collaboration platform will make PowerSteering an even more encompassing solution.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

PPM vendors cannot isolate themselves within their own software, offering insular collaboration platforms. The nature of business today is that organisations leverage collaboration platforms. Integrations to applications such as Microsoft Teams and Slack are a must have requirement. In this announcement Upland may be playing catch up with some competitors but it was vital that it delivered the integration.
