Ramco has announced that its customer PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB Logistics) has completed the first phase of its project to deploy Ramco ERP for logistics. This is one of Ramco’s largest customers to go live in Indonesia to date. It is a major step for Ramco as it looks to cement its position in the region. CKB Logistics has more than 1,200 employees across 55 locations in Indonesia. It also manages more than 250,000 sqm of warehouse space across ten locations. It provides logistics services across land, sea and air or a combination thereof, with an expertise in moving heavy equipment to inaccessible places.

The first phase included the deployment of finance, rating and billing, assets, transportation and warehousing at CKB Logistics. CKB Logistics will also take advantage of the mobile enabled applications that will improve the efficiency of CKB Logistics staff across its operations. The ability to update information at point of action, whether in the warehouse, dock or delivery site will reduce errors and deliver real time business information to managers.

Iman Sjafei, President Director, PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB Logistics), said, “Logistics companies must digitize their operations to automate data-heavy processes, in order to stay flexible and meet rising consumer demand. With Ramco’s solutions, we aim to have a unified system that can centralize our organization-wide operations, ensuring streamlined and automated flow of information. With Ramco, we plan to scale up our business processes and push our system’s efficiency to greater heights aligning to our strategic vision. Currently we have completed the first wave of the program and remaining waves are targeted to be transitioned by this year.”

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

This is a significant announcement for Ramco as it looks to consolidate a presence in the Logistics Service Providers market across South East Asia. If it is able to complete the installation and demonstrate the efficiencies and cost savings to the CKB Logistics business, then others will take note. P. R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Ramco Systems, commented: “An ERP built for logistics service providers (LSPs) was an unchartered market opportunity. We embarked on building this comprehensive suite to address the LSPs and have found very good traction, globally. The successful go-live at CKB will be a key milestone in our Logistics ERP journey.”

Now delivered, Ramco will hope that other LSP’s come knocking on their door. It will be interesting to see who follows CKB Logistics.
