ProcessPro ERP has announced a new integration with Genesis R&D, the food formulation and labeling software from ESHA Research. ProcessPro has worked with ESHA for more than a decade. This latest update sees an improved API between the two solutions. Daniel Erickson, ProcessPro Product Strategy Manager stated: “Having a recognized leader in the food and beverage space as a certified partner with ProcessPro is a valuable extension of our solution.”
Food manufacturers that use the Genesis formulation software can track and develop new foods in the knowledge that when they are in production any labels created are accurate and contain the correct allergen and nutritional information. The two way integration enables any change in Bill of Materials to transfer back to Genesis. The nutritional and allergen values are then passed back from the Genesis database so that product packaging is created accurately. The revision control functionality within ProcessPro supports and tracks these changes.
Craig Bennett, CEO of ESHA commented: “The two-way data migration the API offers makes it easy for users to sync nutritional analysis, recipe records and even labels across a variety of platforms. Simplifying information exchange and reducing errors in the process opens up so many possibilities for our clients.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
The Genesis R&D API is able to integrate to ERP, POS and websites to provide a nutrition analysis during manufacturing, at point of sale, and for information. The enhanced integration should help their food manufacturing customers to ensure compliance across their packaging.
New nutritional facts label requirements come into force on 1st January 2020 (for manufacturers with more than $10 million in revenue, 1st Jan 2021 for others). Those manufacturers taking advantage of this integration should find the process of including such regulatory changes easier.
