Apttus has announced the appointment of Chris Bishop as Chief Delivery Officer. This is the first appointment by Frank Holland since his appointment as CEO. Holland commented: “Chris is a proven business leader who can ensure that every touch point our customers have with Apttus is a world-class experience. He has an unwavering customer-first mindset. He understands the nuances, pace and engagement specifically needed to support a SaaS-based customer lifecycle. With this pedigree, Chris will be instrumental in helping Apttus accelerate tangible value creation for customers while setting the standard for service excellence in the Middle Office long into the future.”

Bishop joins the company having spent the last seven years as Group Vice President for Global Services and Support at Plex. At Plex he led the Professional Services, Customer Care, and Education Services business units. His experience in the manufacturing sector will compliment Apttus in that market. It has several manufacturers using its CPQ software including Lenovo.

Customer success and service delivery was one of the key objectives to improve that Apptus Executive Chairman David Murphy highlighted to Enterprise Times in a recent interview. Bishop is now in place to execute a strategy to improve Apttus’ customer success which concerned Murphy. One of the KPI’s that will determine whether Bishops is successful will be the retention rate.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Murphy and Holland have now built out a new and stronger management team following the acquisition by Thoma Bravo. It still has co-Founders Neehar Giri and Kent Perkocha in the company.

However, Giri is no longer listed as Chief Solutions Officer and Perkocha isn’t listed as Chief Customer Officer. Both LinkedIn profiles still have those titles listed. Is more change about to happen? Have their roles evolved? Certainly the responsibilities of Chief Delivery Officer seem similar to that of a Chief Customer Officer.
