Acumatica has appointed Todd Wells as new CMO. The news comes shortly after it completed its annual conference where it had more than 1,500 attendees. Wells joins from Deloitte Digital after a one year stint there. Prior to that, he spent twelve years at Microsoft, for the last two years as VP / General Manager, Marketing and Sales Digital Transformation & Operations.

Jon Roskill, CEO, Acumatica commented: “Todd will continue to strengthen Acumatica’s industry position and revenue attainment while contributing to our company-wide efforts to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Todd is a perfect fit for this CMO role and further developing the marketing capability and scale that Acumatica requires.

Acumatica claims to be one of the fastest growing Cloud ERP vendors in the market. It mainly uses an indirect model to sell its products both through traditional channel partners and as white labelled software. At its recent summit it announced a new distribution partner in France, Cegid. It also named its partner of the year for 2018, SWK Technologies.

The company has made four main product announcements:

  • The latest release of its software Acumatica 2019 R1 including improvements to horizontal and industry vertical functionality.
  • The integration of the Tableau analytics to Acumatica.
  • Voice activated command with Amazon Alexa for Business.
  • An Acumatica ERP Connector for Microsoft Flow.

Acumatica also unveiled the work it is doing in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with Google Cloud Vision Product Search.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Acumatica is a company to watch. Part owned by MYOB it has a different approach than the rest of the mid-market. Sometimes its brand awareness may suffer as a result, this is something that Wells will look to address.
