Infor has announced a partnership with ESDS to specifically target the India and Middle East market according to the release. It is unclear whether ESDS is just a hosting partner or whether it will actually deliver Infor deployments. It has an ERP practise that works in several industry sectors including:
- Government & PSU
- Banking and Finance
- Education
- Healthcare
- Technology
- Manufacturing
- E-commerce
- Travel and Tourism
While the release focuses on the Middle East and India ESDS does not appear to have any data centres in the Middle East. It does have sites in the India, UK and USA. The company has more than 40,000 clients across the globe and is one of India’s leading providers according to a recent Gartner report.
Darryl Cox, Director of Strategic Alliances for IMEA, Infor commented: “With cross-industry services, Infor is delighted to be ESDS’s solution partner across Infor’s key markets – India and the Middle East. We look forward to assisting organisations that span the different verticals as they continue to adopt emerging technologies and embrace digital transformation.
“ESDS’ expertise in managed data center services, coupled with Infor’s industry-specific cloud solutions, will promote faster and more effective responses to market opportunities, serving as a catalyst for growth for both organisations. Strategic partnerships are key to our business, and we look forward to our collaboration with ESDS.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
For ESDS this is a boost as it now has two of the leading ERP vendors in its portfolio. The other is SAP with S/4 HANA. With AWS about to launch in the Middle East (in Bahrain) the timing seems a little odd though. However, ESDS offers digital transformation services, has better local customer relationships and a larger presence in India. This is a key and growing market for ERP at the moment.
What ESDS does offer is a trusted local partner for a region that Infor clearly wants to target. It has also had success in the Middle East recently. The ESDS data centre in Nashik may provide a cheaper hosting location than AWS to service that region. It certainly provides another option. The proof of success will be how many clients it has running in the ESDS cloud in a years time.
