Oracle has announced that Oracle has won the naming rights for the Giants stadium. The deal comes a year earlier than expected. AT&T, the previous sponsors, relinquished its sponsorship a year early. No financial terms were disclosed however the deal will also see further cooperation between the two organisations with:

  • Capital and technology upgrades to the park. These include an improved scoreboard and signage as well as “emerging technologies” to improve the experience for fans
  • Joint Community outreach programs
  • New hospitality experience for both Oracle customers and community.

Mark Hurd, CEO of Oracle commented: “We are extremely proud that one of the best and most storied ballparks in America will now be called Oracle Park. The Giants have always been on the forefront of bringing innovative experiences to baseball, and we are excited to continue that tradition”.

The deal will start from the beginning of the 2019. It may allow the Oracle brand recognition to improve not only in the US especially but also worldwide due to baseballs appeal. It may even improve its current ranking of #21 on Forbes most valuable brands.
