Dan Jeavons, General Manager, Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence, Shell talks about how analytics is changing the company. We spoke to Jeavons at Alteryx Inspire after he gave a presentation the deployment of the analytics platform at Shell (see image above).
Jeavons spoke about how analytics is now becoming embedded within Shell. He also spoke how the company is solving the recruitment issue of data scientists that many companies face. The biggest challenge that analytics teams face is data security, according to Jeavons. This is an area that many seem to ignore. We also spoke about scenario planning and how machine learning is multi-lingual.
