IFS has won three new deals to implement IFS Applications 9 at three manufacturers in Sri Lanka. The announcement named Cable Solutions Lanka Pvt Ltd, Prime Packaging Lanka, and Quality Floors Lanka Ltd. The three companies share the same MD, Pawan Tejwani.
Cable Solutions Lanka is the largest of the three and headquartered in Sweden. It selected IFS ERP to help with its expansion. Cable Solutions produces high quality customised cables from Sri Lanka and India.
Prime Packaging Lanka, manufactures packaging for food and chemicals primarily. Quality Flooring offers flooring solutions for both commercial and industrial use. All three use batch manufacturing processes to build their products.
Key to their decision was the ability of IFS to rapidly deploy the solution. IFS has approximately 700 staff based in Sri Lanka it is one of its largest operations outside Sweden.
Chosen for manufacturing expertise
IFS is strong in the manufacturing sector. This implementation will include several of the IFS core manufacturing modules. These will include Material Requirements Planning (MRP), costing, quality management, and shop floor reporting. For the three companies it will help to track inventory and control costs. It will also build up a record of activities on the shop floor that management can then analyse to look for insights for improving production KPI’s.
Tejwani commented “All three companies are set for rapid expansion and future growth, so we require an ERP solution that meets our needs in terms of process efficiency, accuracy of data, and real-time updates while also possessing the ability to grow with us in the long term. IFS has a sterling reputation and we are confident that IFS Applications is the solution that will help drive our businesses forward and ensure that we achieve our goals.”
Conclusion
These three wins are a group of companies with the same managing director. It shows that IFS is strong in each of these micro verticals. The requirements for food and beverage packaging include labelling requirements and traceability that go beyond many in manufacturing.
As small manufacturers look to expand and grow they need to consider their next business solution to support the business. The three companies appear to have opted for an on-premises solution rather than IFS’ Azure based one. As the infrastructure in Sri Lanka improves they will be able to migrate their solution into the cloud and develop it further.
Shiraz Lye, Director Sales & Marketing South Asia for IFS, commented: “Growing organisations like Cable Solutions, Prime Packaging and Quality Floors are in a challenging situation: they need to run their businesses in an increasingly competitive and demanding market, with limited resources and a limited IT staff. IFS Applications is ideally suited to support this type of company as we offer a world-class ERP system with easy-to-use yet comprehensive functionality that easily scales to suit business requirements.”
