So what is in Oracle ERP cloud now?

The Oracle ERP integrated cloud now consists of a number of key elements

Oracle Financials cloud

Oracle Financials cloud is designed for control over operations and rapid information access with advanced embedded analytical capabilities.

  • Comprehensive cash positioning and forecasting delivers control over short-term liquidity through better planning and balancing of cash transfers or payments.
  • Expanded Financial Reporting Center features deliver a secure, collaborative report distribution model, aimed at both finance and line of business users, providing customers a single, consistent point of access for all standard and custom reporting needs.

Accounting Hub reporting cloud

Accounting Hub Reporting cloud improves business decisions by extending reporting and analysis of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Accounting Hub Reporting Cloud provides enterprises with multi-dimensional reporting and analytical capabilities including mobile reporting support.

Project Management cloud (PPM)

Oracle Project Management cloud (PPM) Cloud is designed for the modern project worker with embedded analytics with interactive reporting and dashboards. Oracle PPM Cloud has broadened its native integrations to both cloud and on-premise solutions.

  • Real-time, actionable and unified project dashboards for project financial management and project execution provide improved project insight with enhanced via performance analytics for self-monitoring projects.
  • PPM Cloud now integrates Oracle Sourcing Cloud for managing negotiations and has expanded coverage for product development processes with integration to Innovation Management Cloud.
  • Other elements include project management tools, task management tools, resource management and project analytics

Risk Management cloud

The Oracle Risk Management cloud optimises controls within and outside financial processes using an integrated solution as part of your Oracle ERP Cloud deployment. While Oracle flag this solution as governance and risk it appears to be purely wrapped around the financial elements of the software and does appear to go outside this remit. The solution consists of three elements:

  • Managing Risks and Control, this includes mapping hierarchies against SOX and mandates against frameworks such as COBIT and COSO.
  • Assess control effectiveness: It allows risk based scoping and can then help with the timing of assessments, supporting both timed and ad hoc, before allowing risk managers to capture and store all assessment data in a single repository for simplified reporting.
  • Addressing deficiencies and certify controls: As part of the assessment flow users can create issues. Notification on issue creation can be automated so that owners and approvers are informed. It is possible to create and update re-mediation plans, tasks and also certify controls (against SOX 302, 404 etc)

Revenue Management cloud

Revenue Management cloud effectively simplifies the revenue recognition process. One questions why this is a separate element for the Oracle ERP solution and not a core part of the solution. The solution includes support for revenue schedules, multiple element arrangements, revenue allocations, fair market value and financials intelligence

Project Financial Management cloud

Project financial management cloud consists of two elements Project financials and Project contract billing.

  • Project financials includes Cost Management, planning, budgeting, progress reporting, financials, summarisation and key performance measures.
  • Project contract billing includes Contract Authoring, billing and revenue recognition

Procurement cloud

Oracle Procurement Cloud now includes added depth via direct materials support for manufacturers and supply chain orchestration, enabling customers in product industries to adopt cloud.

  • Direct Materials Support expands beyond indirect materials and services to support manufacturing and direct materials processes including configured items, drop shipment, and back-to-back orders.
  • Oracle Sourcing integration with Oracle PPM Cloud simplifies the management and tracking of complex negotiation activities.

Oracle Supply Chain Management cloud

The Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cloud does not appear to be part of the Oracle ERP cloud, neither do the HCM or Customer Experience cloud solutions. The modules do not yet appear to be fully available with both Manufacturing cloud and Supply Chain Planning cloud which is flagged as coming soon and while announced in the press release there is no actual indication when they will be available.

The eight elements within SCM Cloud are:

  • Inventory and Cost Management Cloud : Global inventory and cost management in the cloud
  • Logistics Cloud :Reduce costs, increase efficiency, ensure compliance
  • Manufacturing Cloud :Enable efficient and productive manufacturing operations in the cloud (not available yet)
  • Order Management Cloud: Orchestrate the entire process and proactively resolve exceptions
  • Procurement Cloud : Empower modern procurement
  • Product Lifecycle Management Cloud :Innovate, develop, and commercialize profitable products
  • Product Master Data Management Cloud: Master and commercialize your enterprise product information
  • Supply Chain Planning Cloud: Modern and comprehensive manufacturing planning solution
