Gartner has a whole division dedicated to supporting CIO’s, including a shadow CIO and they have also published a toolkit for the first 100 days. The detailed version is not free however, and this was created in 2012: The CIO’s First 100 Days: A Toolkit – Gartner
Accenture, the global consulting firm recognise in their “Go live on day one: The path to success as a new CIO” that you need to hit the ground running. Their approach is a simple three step approach, though no doubt expanded in the full report.
