The Casino Gran Madrid has chosen IFS to provide them with the ERP business software to help run their business in the future. IFS Applications 9 was chosen from a short list of global ERP solutions and will be implemented by the Madrid based IFS partner trece consultoria y Servicios.
Diana Cobaleda, IT Director for Casino Gran Madrid commenting on the announcement said “IFS Applications 9 stood out as it not only fits our current requirements, but it also can adapt to our future needs. Combining the solution with the integration expertise of Thirteen Consulting Group gives us confidence in quickly realizing value from the project.” Cobaleda went on to explain that the objective would be to improve the efficiency of their administration processes and reduce cost overheads.
Implementing an ERP solution is not simple and CGM has decided to split the project into two phases:
The first phase would see the implementation of the Finance, Purchasing and inventory modules supported by document management, business analytics and internal collaboration. IFS Applications 9 also includes a project management module but this and the implementation of maintenance processes will be part of phase two.
A new ERP market for IFS?
Founded in Sweden in 1983 IFS (XSTO:IFS)has grown to over 2,700 employees and has a presence in 42 countries with more than 1,000,000 users. Interestingly Casino’s do not neatly fall into any key target industry defined by IFS and one wonder whether this will see IFS expand into a new ERP market. IFS Ibérica Managing Director Gustavo Brito was happy announcing what could be a strategic win for the region, commenting: “We are proud to be working with Casino Gran Madrid and we are confident that our solution will help them become more efficient and improve their business processes. Thirteen Consulting Group is a trusted partner whose extensive experience in implementing solutions for infrastructure management will be an asset to the implementation.”
